Through the opening scene the amount of guns, women and red beams are shown throughout the 3 minute opening. This is due to giving a glimpse to the audience of what they're in for when watching Octopussy. The music is fast this shows what kind of flow the film will have as well as it creates suspense for the audience before the film has even started. This shows that the film is an action due to the fast flow of music and the sense of suspense right from the start.

In the 38 seconds of the opening they show short cuts of places all in isolation and alone. No one is shown it is just the aftermath of what has happened. The Music creates the sense of suspense and so does the short cuts between images shown this shows straight away it is an action. The images seem have been edited so that they seem darker this creates intrigue for the audience for what has happened as no one has been shown only places that would normally be busy but are quiet with no one to be seen.
Though the only thing of life we see is from a possible human shadow under the door and someone's eyeball moving.

1:00 - 1:01 - Name of film.
With the quick short shots shown in the opening of this film it creates the sense of unnerving tension, especially with the images being shown. This is different to other openings as directors usually choose to use the opening as a place to show the names of the credits though later on in the opening scene they did show some credits the director used the opening scene as a creepy and weird start as the things being shown weren't normal so it creates a question from the audience of what is going to happen. As well the dark lighting used really represents what a horror film is about.

1:00 - 1:02 - Name of film.
Just like the American Horror Story made in 2011 this opening scene starts of the same where the directors choose to start the opening scene with fast quick shots of images but this time it has more of an unnatural feel to it as the seems possibly possessed and crazy. This shows it is a horror due to the unnatural element seen as well as the dark lighting and almost frightening images we see. I believe the directors idea for this is to scare the audience and get them out of their comfort zone straight away and prepare them for the rest pf the film.
